Please note that not only one sendfax is run in the background. If the document
to be faxed is relatively large then more than one sendfax connects to hfaxd at 
one point in time (simulating multiple users faxing concurrently)

Don't know whether this makes a significant difference for the problem :-)
I am not able to reproduce this.
