[hylafax-users] DTE-DCE data underflow (code 43)
I have seen some postings about this problem. I'm testing a setup for a server. Im using a RH 6.2 linux machine (it will run on a P-200, but for now it runs on my development machine, which is a PIII-600 w 256Mb RAM).
I'm running the latest hylafax version (4.1b2) and I'm using a Multitech MT5600ZDXe modem.
The setup works perfectly in class 1 or 2 for receiving faxes (class 2 requires LSB & MSB to be switched). For sending faxes I'm always having this underflow error (both under high and no load conditions).

It's not a computer problem, because my cheap LT w(l)inmodem works perfectly under extremely high load conditions.
Strange thing is that I've set the modem up to use hardware flow control, but it reports "SEND wait for XON"? (and yes I checked the AT command in the manual to set the modem to hardware flow ctrl). Isn't XON for software flow control?
Anyway...I've set Class 2 & xonxoff..but then sending a fax just hangs hylafax.
Then I set Class 1 & xonxoff...to my surprise this worked (even at high load conditions)! Although I'm not sure how much I can trust this modem...
Does anyone have better ideas to solve this...or an explenation what is going on?
(I'd like to use Class 2 if possible)
Grtz
Alain
