Well, I tried this, and I notice this in the output:

Make /var/spool/fax/bin/ps2fax a link to /var/spool/fax/bin/ps2fax.gs.

/usr/local/sbin/faxsetup: [: yes: integer expression expected
/usr/local/sbin/faxsetup: [: yes: integer expression expected
/usr/local/sbin/faxsetup: [: yes: integer expression expected

Modem support functions written to /var/spool/fax/etc/setup.modem.
Configuration parameters written to /var/spool/fax/etc/setup.cache.

if it's useful to anybody, my modem is a V.34 USR Sportster 56k x2 modem.
I haven't bothered to flash it to v90.
