Any particular reason why you chose to install the version that was around
with the dinosaurs?

Hmm... ps2fax uses libtiff... libtiff incompatibilities.  Do this:

# rpm -e hylafax

and then follow the instructions here:

http://www.hylafax.org/howto/install.php#ss2.2
