As far as i remember this doesn't mean anything when faxgetty send this message... This is because that a fax is beeing send at that very moment and faxgetty can't lock the modem (which is true, but ok) Respect, Benjamin Petersen Systemdeveloper Dan Net A/S Marko Asplund <aspa@kronodoc.fi> on 25-09-2000 15:45:20 To: Lee Howard <faxguy@deanox.com> cc: hylafax-users@hylafax.org (bcc: Benjamin Petersen/Dan Net) Subject: Re: [hylafax-users] problems setting up a send-only HylaFAX On Mon, 25 Sep 2000, Lee Howard wrote: > ... > faxstat won't do you any good unless you're running faxgetty. > > It seems as if you're using the wrong config file or something... > > Did you run faxsetup and faxaddmodem? > > Did you follow this: > > http://www.hylafax.org/howto/install.php#ss2.2 i re-installed HylaFAX from scratch following the HOWTO-instructions in more pedantic fashion. what has changed from my previous installation is that, i wasn't running faxgetty and my ghostscript package was v6.01 before i downgraded to v5.50. now, sending faxes seems to be working fine except that i get occasional 'ANSWER: Can not lock modem device' messages. any ideas on what could be causing these messages? thanks, best regards, -- aspa ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null
