Ta I don't have access to a solaris machine. I was looking at one of my UnixWare machines. Opps, I was thinking they were setup when faxsetup was run but it turns out that hfaxd creates them if needed on startup before doing a chroot. So if socksys isn't there hfaxd doesn't need it on solaris. > and > Ulrich, I don't have a hylafax entry in /etc/inetd.conf > Thanks to you both > > Marina > > > Marina Daniels > System Administrator > TMD & Computing Services > Department of Premier & Cabinet > email : Marina.Daniels@cs.tas.gov.au > phone: 03 6233 7644 > > >>> Tim Rice <tim@trr.metro.net> 02/05/00 3:57:06 >>> > On Mon, 1 May 2000, Marina Daniels wrote: > > > I have hylafax-v4.0pl2 installed on solaris 2.6. > > > > I first set it up 6 months ago and was able to send faxes with it, but now when I go to send a fax I get the same error message I get below with "faxstat -v" > > > > "Trying localhost (127.0.0.1) at port 4559... > > Can not reach server at host "localhost", port 4559." > > > > In /var/adm/messages it says: > > May 1 14:46:28 falcon HylaFAX[21160]: HylaFAX INET: socket: Permission denied > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > Just a guess here.
