flexfax: wtmp +400k

Hello,
	apparantly, from a message I found in /var/spool/mail/root
the file /var/log/wtmp gets archived every so often.  Is this a HylaFax
process?  If so, what is going on, and why the archive?  Why not just clear out
the contents?
