flexfax: Ring detected without successful handshake

Hi all.  I'm using the RH 4.1beta1 RPM with a USR Sportster 33.6 external
modem.  I've set the baud rate to 19200 and am still receiving the
following message:

Jan 11 14:12:31 fax FaxGetty[343]: ANSWER: Ring detected without
successful handshake
Jan 11 14:12:31 fax FaxGetty[343]: MODEM set DTR OFF
Jan 11 14:12:31 fax FaxGetty[343]: MODEM set DTR OFF
Jan 11 14:12:34 fax FaxGetty[343]: MODEM set DTR ON
Jan 11 14:12:34 fax FaxGetty[343]: MODEM set baud rate: 19200 baud, input
flow RTS/CTS, output flow RTS/CTS                           

Does anyone have any other ideas what might be causing this problem?
