Hello! While trying to move our faxserver from an SUN Solaris system to a Redhat 6.1 Linux box I encountered a strange problem with sending sms messages to the german d1 network (using ixo protocol). Here's the log: Dec 14 10:04:58.54: [ 8589]: SESSION BEGIN 00000004 491712092522 Dec 14 10:04:58.54: [ 8589]: SEND PAGE: JOB 1 DEST 001712092522 COMMID 00000004 Dec 14 10:04:58.54: [ 8589]: DELAY 2600 ms Dec 14 10:05:01.14: [ 8589]: <-- [15:ATE0V1Q0S0=0H0\r] Dec 14 10:05:01.16: [ 8589]: --> [2:OK] Dec 14 10:05:01.16: [ 8589]: <-- [12:ATS8=2S7=60\r] Dec 14 10:05:01.18: [ 8589]: --> [2:OK] Dec 14 10:05:01.18: [ 8589]: <-- [7:ATL1M1\r] Dec 14 10:05:01.20: [ 8589]: --> [2:OK] Dec 14 10:05:01.20: [ 8589]: <-- [12:AT+FCLASS=0\r] Dec 14 10:05:01.32: [ 8589]: --> [2:OK] Dec 14 10:05:01.32: [ 8589]: DIAL 001712092522 Dec 14 10:05:01.32: [ 8589]: <-- [19:ATX3DT001712092522\r] Dec 14 10:05:24.19: [ 8589]: --> [25:CONNECT 19200/LAPM/V42BIS] Dec 14 10:05:24.19: [ 8589]: EXPECT ID (paging central identification) Dec 14 10:05:26.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:28.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:30.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:32.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:34.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:36.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:38.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:40.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:42.19: [ 8589]: RECV: D Dec 14 10:05:44.19: [ 8589]: RECV: GND-NVADPAGNGSVSPDBYMNYDV Dec 14 10:05:44.19: [ 8589]: PAGE FAILED: No initial ID response from paging central Dec 14 10:05:44.19: [ 8589]: PAGE FAILED: No initial ID response from paging central; too many attempts to send Dec 14 10:05:44.19: [ 8589]: <-- [5:ATH0\r] Dec 14 10:05:49.19: [ 8589]: MODEM <Timeout> Dec 14 10:05:49.19: [ 8589]: SESSION END Instead of "ID=" it only receives "D". Strangely enough, trying this scenario "by hand" using cu -l, I see the correct string. Look's to me like a hand- shake problem between modem and serial interface, but what ... ? The fatcs: - Redhat 6.1, PII 400MHz, Elsa Microlink 56k, hylafax-4.1beta2 (no add. patches) - used different Modem configs (including the one from Elsa) -> same Problem. - everything else works fine (sending faxes, sending sms to d2 using ucp protocol) - tried different baud rates -> no success - tried xonxoff vs. rtscts -> no success Any ideas ? Thanks in advance. -- Holger
