hi Jani,
we had this problem with a Multitech MT1432BG Firmware 1.13
out solution was to the newest firmware revision from the Multitech
web page and make a new PROM form the firmware.
we upgraded from 1.13 to 1.16b and our error-rate went down
under 0,1%
you should try that too
