Your facsimile job to could not be completed before the appointed
deadline.

To answer your question, this error means that HylaFax couldn't send your fax within the "timeout period"

To fix this, add the following line into your "/usr/local/lib/fax/hyla.conf" file:

KillTime: "now +96 hours"

This means that HylaFax will kill the job after 96 hours if it hasn't been successfully send before this time.
