Latest Beta 4.1, on linux 2.2.11, happily configured and running smoothly, configured primarily for receive operations. I have the modem in class2.0, and setup with the various "workarounds" advocated in the config files (and various USR Sportster Hylafax FAQ web sites I've found). I have adaptive answer off. And I made my answer command "AT +FCLASS=2.0; A" to force FAX modes on answer. I notice that some fax machines cannot seem to send me faxes [one or two Toshiba models in particular, tho I can't track down what the age or model#s are].... I get the following in the logs: Mar 08 15:03:46.48: [ 112]: RECV FAX: begin Mar 08 15:03:53.69: [ 112]: --> [4:+FCO] Mar 08 15:04:00.54: [ 112]: --> [4:+FCO] Mar 08 15:04:09.72: [ 112]: --> [4:+FCO] Mar 08 15:04:34.33: [ 112]: --> [7:+FHS:74] Mar 08 15:04:34.33: [ 112]: REMOTE HANGUP: T.30 T1 timeout after EOM received ( code 74) Mar 08 15:04:34.46: [ 112]: --> [2:OK] Mar 08 15:04:34.46: [ 112]: RECV FAX: T.30 T1 timeout after EOM received Mar 08 15:04:34.46: [ 112]: RECV FAX: end Mar 08 15:04:34.46: [ 112]: SESSION END ==> c00000651 <== Aug 25 11:44:23.02: [32662]: --> [2:OK] Aug 25 11:44:23.02: [32662]: <-- [7:AT+FDR\r] Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: --> [7:+FHS:90] Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: REMOTE HANGUP: Unspecified Phase C error, including too much delay between TCF and +FDR command (code 90) Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: RECV FAX (00000651): recvq/fax00567.tif from 65 744 2678, route to <unspecified>, 0 pages in 0:23 Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: RECV FAX: Unspecified Phase C error, including too much delay between TCF and +FDR command Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: RECV FAX (00000651): session with 65 7442678 termin ated abnormally: Unspecified Phase C error, including too much delay between TCF and +FDR command Aug 25 11:44:31.57: [32662]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00567.tif" "modem" "00000651" "Unspecified Phase C error, including too much delay between TCF and +FDR command" Aug 25 11:44:31.79: [32662]: RECV FAX: end Aug 25 11:44:31.79: [32662]: SESSION END I don't suppose anyone out there has any recommendations as to: 1) Optimal settings of the USR Sportster 56000 [flash model, external] to have the best chance of receiving the most faxes from a variety of machines? 2) Is Class 1, 2, or 2.0 best for receiving faxes? My server is fairly lightly loaded, and would not have latency issues responding to serial i/o traffic. [I am to understand that Class 1 operations require more interactivity on the part of the server]. =Rob=
