Hmm. Faxstat isn't showing the active modem? After installing faxgetty in the "/etc/inittab", did you run a "kill -HUP 1" in order to re-initialize it? > I must be missing something :-( Yeah, I'm not sure what. You ran faxsetup, faxaddmodem, and used either faxmodem or faxgetty to crank up the modem, and if you added faxgetty re-started the init process or rebooted to re-scan the inittab: I'm curious myself why it isn't working.
