First; please wrap your lines at 72 characters.

Second, you shouldn't be using /dev/cua* anymore.  Convert -everything-
on your machine to use /dev/ttyS*instead.  This is A Good Idea on 2.0
kernels, in 2.2, It's The Law.

Let's take a look at the logs...

Nope.  This message is Faxgetty noticing that the port is now
available, realizing that the reason is because someone else just opened
it, and going back to sleep.

That looks questionable at best.  Why isn't it echoing the entire phone
number, I must wonder.

Perhaps you have non-European dialrules(4F) installed?

It looks like there are missing lines there, too...

Perhaps you have a flow control problem with this modem?

What sort of mode is it?

Remember, everyone: you have to give _ALL_ the details on a problem
report.  Sometime today, I'm going to create and post a sample problem
report form; I'd encourage everyone to use it for reports, and maybe
Darren will include a copy in the next RPM, if I do a good enough job.
