flexfax: Hylafax and inbound data calls

Does anyone have any recommendations about the best way to get a working
Hylafax system to accept inbound PPP connections?

I'm aware that mgetty provides the facility to recognize PPP frames on
the serial line, and invoke pppd with PAP authentication. Can faxgetty
do this, or is the only option to have faxgetty invoke a login process
for authentication, which would then invoke pppd after successfully
authenticating a remote user in terminal mode?

Alternatively, is it possible to configure faxgetty to hand off an
incoming data call to mgetty?

I've looked through the docs on the website, but found little in the way
of specific information, though it seems as though this should be
possible without too much difficulty. Any information would be
appreciated.
