The PPI 14.4 FXMT modems work much better with software flow-control
for fax, but work just fine with hardware flow-control for data.

Now, if anyobody's got a usable 33.6 data configuration for a "Performance"
modem, or other 33.6 modem I can play with, I'd appreciate a pointer...
