I agree. Unfortunately, the default configure script did not find the location of the ghostscript fonts or AFM under Linux. I wrote a patch for this in my http://cirl.meei.harvard.edu/hylafax/patches/ directory. Should I submit those, or do you have copies of those patches? I've lost track of whether I submitted those. > Similarly, the "etc/hylafax.sh" script in the source used locations of > the script inconsistent with RedHat 5.0 and needed tweaking to install > as "hylafax" in /etc/rc.d/init.d/. > > ... this should also fix all problems in etc/hylafax script (because > it is created by the configure from etc/hylafax.in). Sam's shell scripting in the configure was very sophisticated and robust. I have to be very cautious tweaking it or I tend to break it, or violate the protocols he used to do things. It takes tweaking etc/hylafax.in, etc/Makefile.in, and configure to use a new field for "init.d" scripts. And different OS's have different ideas of how to do this: I've only got Linux and SunOS to play with right now. > I think most of the problems in the RPM's are the result of putting > things together in a wrong way or w/o knowledge how the things are > designed to be (remember the discussion about creating modem-config > files by hand and not run the faxsetup(1M) tool). I agree again. Boy, you must be smart, because I agree with you so often! Nico Garcia Senior Engineer, CIRL Mass.
