flexfax: Communication failure during Phase B/C -- remote failed to send EOP

Hi!

I'm using
HylaFAXv4.0pl1 under Linux 2.0.30, gcc version 2.7.2.1, USRobotics 
Sportster Voice 33600 Fax Rev. 2.0.

When sending faxes to some destinations I get a 'Communication failure 
during Phase B/C' error message. Sometimes after a 2nd or 3rd try the fax 
will be sent successfully but often it has 3 failures and aborts.
In all cases the fax seems to be delivered correctly and only the remote 
fax fails to send the 'EOP', so that we end up with 3 or more identical 
pages sent but never get a success status.
This is especially a problem when sending to expensive destinations, as the 
modem is waiting up to 3 minutes till timeout.

Now the questions:
Does anyone know if this is a
-  modem related problem which can be solved by changing the modem or just 
some modem inits.
-  problem of the remote fax, which is failing to send the EOP -- maybe 
with old faxing machines
-  problem with the setup of hylafax (maybe modem setup)

How can I set the timeout from 3 minutes to 2 or 1 minute?
