Yeouch - I didn't even notice that.  I'm running 2.0.29; I must have
slipped cutting the string out of the xterm.

I've been beating my head against the wall on this - from two different
mfgrs/models of fax machine I get the following:

Oct 28 16:53:17.36: [ 2890]: --> [17:+FPTS: 1,2219,0,0]
Oct 28 16:53:18.70: [ 2890]: --> [7:+FET: 2]
Oct 28 16:53:18.70: [ 2890]: RECV recv EOP (no more pages or documents)
Oct 28 16:53:18.81: [ 2890]: --> [2:OK]
Oct 28 16:53:18.81: [ 2890]: RECV send RTN (retrain negative)
Oct 28 16:53:18.81: [ 2890]: <-- [7:AT+FDR\r]
Oct 28 16:53:21.53: [ 2890]: --> [8:+FHNG: 0]

but receiving from a fax modem (motorola class 2 on an AIX box running
proprietary fax software - imaging system) I get:

Oct 28 17:52:37.62: [ 2890]: --> [17:+FPTS: 1,2219,0,0]
Oct 28 17:52:38.84: [ 2890]: --> [7:+FET: 2]
Oct 28 17:52:38.84: [ 2890]: RECV recv EOP (no more pages or documents)
Oct 28 17:52:38.84: [ 2890]: --> [2:OK]
Oct 28 17:52:38.84: [ 2890]: RECV send MCF (message confirmation)
Oct 28 17:52:38.84: [ 2890]: <-- [7:AT+FDR\r]
Oct 28 17:52:41.47: [ 2890]: --> [8:+FHNG: 0]

When receiving from a fax machine, hylaFAX sends a retrain request but
the fax machine hangs up. When receiving from a fax modem, hylaFAX
sends a message confirmation and accepts the page. I've watched as the
fax arrives from both fax machines - the tif is created in recvq, grows
to the correct size, then gets deleted when the fax machine hangs up.

I haven't been able to find any reason why hylaFAX is sending a retrain
request - no receive errors appear the the log - or why the fax machine
is ignoring the request. I've tried adding the config line shown on the
web page for class 2 modems to no effect. I've set the session tracing
to 131071 and not seen anything indicating the problem. I've set the
fax modem's port speed from 38400 down to 9600. No matter what I do,
it sends a retrain request and gets hung up on by the fax machine.

Ideas?
