   Here are the pointers...

   1) NETPBM -> ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/utilities/netpbm-1mar1994.tar.gz
   2) ImageMagick -> ftp://ftp.wizards.dupont.com/pub/ImageMagick/

   With both of them you will have plenty of utilities to convert from/to
many of image formtas.
