9. For More Information...

HylaFAX has been a part of SuSE, Mandrake, and Debian Linux distributions for a while now, and there are mailing lists and FAQs related to HylaFAX for those distributions on those websites. It just goes to show that there are a lot of "external" resources for HylaFAX HOW-TO information. If this document does not provide the information that you need, perhaps these other resources will.

You may also want to take a look at what's available in ftp://ftp.hylafax.org/contrib.

9.1 HylaFAX man Pages

By far, the best source for HylaFAX usage information are the man pages. If you're going to be using HylaFAX a lot, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a printed manual available. A good trick for doing this is:
'man manpage | ul -T dumb > outputfile.txt'
or
'man -t manpage > outputfile.ps'
where manpage is the name of the man page that you want to print, and outputfile is the name of the text file where this will be written. With the text format, print the outputfile on your printer with 2.5" header and footer margins. Unfortunately, some of the text will surpass the right-hand margin.

Here is a script that can assist you in producing a single-volume concatenated man-page manual for HylaFAX in Postscript. You may need to adjust it a bit to conform with your man page layout, as some HylaFAX man page names are known to conflict with those from other packages.

If you're lazy, and just want this manual ready-made, it's available here. Beware of differing pathnames and potential version differences, however.

All of the HylaFAX man pages can also be reviewed online at: http://www.hylafax.org/man/.

9.3 HylaFAQ

Many common questions are answered in the HylaFAQ, http://www.hylafax.org/HylaFAQ/index.html. Some of the information is outdated, so be mindful of that.
