[hylafax-devel] config/usr-2.0
How do I get write access to the CVS?
Actually, I don't care to have write access, so if it's better that I
simply post patches and updates here, I will. Will somebody else apply the
changes (if approved) to the CVS then, though?
Anyway, attached to this e-mail is a new config/usr-2.0 file. The old one
was broken pretty bad (as evidenced by all the previous trouble with USR
modems). The firmware is faulty, in that it reports Copy Quality checking
when in actuality it doesn't (you go to change it to the options that it
claims are appropriate, and it ERRORs). The old usr-2.0 file attempted to
fix this by setting Class2CQCmd to !(0),(0). This is wrong, however. It
should have been setting Class2CQQueryCmd to !(0),(0) and Class2CQCmd to
"". (Conceivably, it would have also been functional to use AT+FCQ? as the
Class2CQQueryCmd (rather than AT_FCQ=?) since it always returns "0,0", but
I don't know how the parsing works and if the parenthesis are important.
Better to just hardcode it with the !. This, along with a couple of minor
changes, has been made to this usr-2.0 file.
Note that the manpage for config omits Class2CQQueryCmd from the Class2.0
list. It's also missing another one... I can't remember which right now.
This file hasn't had a terribly huge use by me (a few dozen faxes in and a
few faxes out), but everyone who has asked for a USR config file on
hylafax-users and who have used mine haven't come back with any trouble
later... excepting the normal HylaFAX communication bugs that come into
play with any modem.
Also, I wanted to second the suggestion that Greg Luck made to add PDF to
the typerules. I'd do that, too, if I had CVS writing permissions.
Thanks.
