How To Make Scorecard Submissions

This page describes how to update existing results for a fax modem or submit new scorecard results. Submissions are tabulated automatically and used to update this database daily.

Updating Existing Results

To submit updated results for an existing modem select the modem:

and hit to get a form from for updating the information.

Submitting New Results

To submit results for a modem not already in the database, fill out the form below and hit the Create button to get a blank form to use in submitting new results.

Note that if you are running a UNIX system you can use the probemodem shell script to automatically retrieve and submit modem results simply by doing something like:

% probemodem /dev/ttyf2 |& mail scorecard@engr.sgi.com

(consult the comments at the top of the probemodem script for general usage information.)

If you are not on a UNIX system or if the probemodem script does not work on your system, then you'll need to manually type the commands to the modem and record the results.
