To: hylafax-users@hylafax.org Subject: corrupted tiff files Date: Sat, 15 Jun 1996 07:00:49 EDT From: "Thomas B. Clark"I am a recent convert, and LOVE Hylafax; unfortunately, I still have not successfully received a fax, although I can send them normally. This is additional information about the problem I already posted. The TIFF files are actually corrupted, since another program does not recognize them as TIFF. System: Sparc 20, Solaris 2.5 Serial port: /dev/cua/6 (MAGMA serial board, no parameters preset) Modem: SupraFax 28.8 Email received from Hylafax: recvq/fax00010.tif: Could not open recvq/fax00010.tif; either not TIFF or corrupted. ReceivedOn: cua_6 The full document was not received because: Normal and proper end of connection ---- Transcript of session follows ---- Jun 15 06:51:51.86: [29378]: SESSION BEGIN 00000017 19199662253 Jun 15 06:51:51.89: [29378]: <-- [4:ATA\r] Jun 15 06:52:00.01: [29378]: --> [5:+FCON] Jun 15 06:52:00.02: [29378]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION Jun 15 06:52:00.02: [29378]: RECV FAX: begin Jun 15 06:52:01.59: [29378]: --> [29:+FTSI: " 1 919 493 2030 "] Jun 15 06:52:01.59: [29378]: REMOTE TSI "1 919 493 2030" Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: --> [22:+FDCS: 1,5,0,0,0,0,0,0] Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: REMOTE wants 14400 bit/s Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: REMOTE wants page width 1728 pixels in 215 mm Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: REMOTE wants A4 page length (297 mm) Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: REMOTE wants 7.7 line/mm Jun 15 06:52:02.00: [29378]: REMOTE wants 1-D MR Jun 15 06:52:02.10: [29378]: --> [2:OK] Jun 15 06:52:02.10: [29378]: <-- [7:AT+FDR\r] Jun 15 06:52:05.16: [29378]: --> [5:+FCFR] Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: --> [22:+FDCS: 1,5,0,0,0,0,0,0] Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: REMOTE wants 14400 bit/s Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: REMOTE wants page width 1728 pixels in 215 mm Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: REMOTE wants A4 page length (297 mm) Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: REMOTE wants 7.7 line/mm Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: REMOTE wants 1-D MR Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: --> [7:CONNECT] Jun 15 06:52:07.20: [29378]: RECV: begin page Jun 15 06:52:07.21: [29378]: RECV: send trigger 021 Jun 15 06:52:09.19: [29378]: RECV: 0 total lines, 0 bad lines, 0 consecutive bad lines Notice 0 lines received. You need to figure out why you're receiving no data or garbage data. Frequently a problem such as this is caused by the wrong RecvFillOrder or a host-modem flow control problem. You might also try disabling copy quality checking in the host so that you capture the raw data from the modem--you can then look at it with some of the TIFF tools to, for example, figure out if the bit order is opposite to what is expected.
