T	suspended (not being scheduled)
P	pending (waiting for time to send)
S	sleeping (waiting for scheduled timeout)
B	blocked (by concurrent activity)
W	waiting (for resources, e.g. a free modem)
R	running (actively being processed)
D	done (processing completed)

Feel free to provide better acronyms.
