Handbook:About This Document

The HylaFAX Administrator's Handbook is an attempt to collate everything one might need to know in order to install and operate a HylaFAX server successfully. It was born during the relaunch of the hylafax.org website, late in 2005. The initial revision was created by combining the best elements of the original HylaFAX website, the first hylafax.org website, Lee Howard's HOW-TO guide, and any other good stuff we could get our hands on.

This document differs from those that came before it in two very important ways. First, it actually does try to be a comprehensive reference. Second, it's not being written by a small core group of people, but thanks to the power of MediaWiki it's a 'living document' that can be corrected, extended and/or improved by any member of the HylaFAX community. It is documentation for the community, by the community.

If you're looking for a way to contribute to HylaFAX, please consider doing a little work to improve this reference document. Countless people will benefit from your work, of that you can be certain! There really is nothing to it - just click the 'edit' tab on a page you think needs some work, and you're on your way to becoming a hylafax.org webmaster !
