That worked!

Wonder why I got a comm error with the convert prog, it was producing what looked like ok postscript and the remote fax seemed to get the whole image defore it threw an error - very strange.

I do that with the netpbm package

  /usr/bin/pngtopnm ${1} | /usr/bin/pnmtops -noturn - 2>/dev/null
