Re: [hylafax-users] Weird wedge or something
The log that you provided indicates a non-fax call. These tend to happen
regularly when people dial the wrong number or when they intentionally
dial your fax number just to see if your fax machine is working. If this
causes your modem to "wedge" on each instance, then that's an easy
avenue to reproduce the problem. If it is possible to reproduce it, then
set ServerTracing to 0xFFF in your modem config file, restart faxgetty,
reproduce the problem, and then send both the corresponding session log
(from /var/spool/hylafax/log) and the FaxGetty logs from the server log
(usually /var/log/messages).
Thanks,
Lee.

Hey Everybody
This morning I get a call from my office telling me that the fax
machine is not receiving faxes. It seems that the line just keeps
ringing without the modem picking it up. This problem has happened a
couple of times before. The only way to fix this problem is to restart
the machine and reinitialize the modem.
I took a look at the recvq/ directory and I found the time between the
last received fax and the first received after I fixed the problem. I
found the time span (18:28 last night to 9:51 this morning) that the
error must have happened and then I went to the log dir. There I found
a log between in the proper time span for which there was no fax
received. I’m not good at reading these logs so I’ll post it here.
One quick note about my system:
Centos 5.2
External Trendnet modem (the model number is unavailable to me at this
point)
I have to use faxgetty in this manner:
Faxgetty –D /dev/ttyS0
Without the –d switch the modem will not initialize (maybe this is my
problem?).
Here is my log file as previously mentioned...please ask me any
questions for stuff that I may have left out. Thanks in advance for
any info.
