Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax, FC9 and inittab

Greetings

Running Hylafax 5.2.7-1 under FC9, I don't seem to be able to get faxgetty to do it's thing out of inittab as it did before.

After reading a little it appears that the problem is that /etc/inittab is becoming deprecated and I need to start using "upstart" instead.

Does anyone know if:

a) that is correct and
b) if there is any reason why I just cannot launch faxgetty on the requisite port at system startup?

TIA

Nigel.

Yes, faxgetty under F9 uses the upstart method. Lee Howard sent a note about this last week.

"If you look at the HOWTO here under 2.2.5:

http://hylafax.sourceforge.net/howto/install.php#ss2.2

... you'll see an example of how to install faxgetty into a system using upstart (like Fedora 9)."
