I use it every week to send 600 faxes and the issues I have are never 
with iaxmodem

I use slinear with asterisk. Your "it failed" is not very descriptive. 
Did the iaxmodem register with asterisk? Did hylafax start sending (or 
receiving) the call and whereabouts did it fail.

Is your linksys adaptor just analog lines for asterisk or something else?
