You are you verifying the "fine" and "cut" differences in TIFF between
the original and you attached copy?

If you attach a TIF, is the tiff not "identical" when you save it from
your e-mail program to the original tiff?

Save it from your e-mail program, and use md5sum to compare it to the
original.  They should be identical.
