Thanks for your reply.

First of all, I should correct the modem model. It is 2949L. Sorry for 
this mistake.

I run hylafax-5.2.2-2 on CentOS 5.1. After, your post, I downloaded the 
latest firmware from Zoom. But, it is not possible to flash it due to 
"Modem is not responding" error. Actually, modem works OK, but the 
update program still complains. Perhaps, it needs Win9x system (mine is 
XP). I even tried compatibility mode in XP, but no go.
