Does anybody know if the Zoom USB data/fax V.92 USB Mini External Modem works with HylaFAX under Linux??

If it's a 'software' (Lin/Win) modem then the answer is NO. If it's a full hardware modem then the answers is MAYBE... send the full modem part number to see what HylaFAX users have to say.
As far as I can tell from the packaging, it "appears" to be a full hardware modem.

I have copied their web site blurb below:

Model 3095F V.92 USB Mini External
Miniature 56K modem works with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers

The low-cost Model 3095F modem plugs into the USB port of any notebook or desktop computer. It's miniature design makes it ideal for travel.

The Model 3095 is approximately the size of a disposable lighter. The modem’s short integrated cable plugs directly into a computer USB port, and the other end of the modem connects to a phone jack through a standard phone cord. The standard phone cord is easy to replace if it’s lost or forgotten, a considerable advantage over the proprietary phone cords used with most PC Card modems.

The modem’s power is provided by the computer’s USB port, eliminating the need for a power adapter when traveling, and reducing power adapter clutter in the home or office.

An on-board digital signal processor and controller maximize system stability and performance. The Model 3095 provides a downstream data transmission rate of up to 56,000 bits per second (bps) and an upstream rate of up to 48,000 bps. All V.92/V.44 features are supported, including Quick Connect, Modem-On-Hold, and improved compression for the graphic content found on the Worldwide Web. Other advanced modem features include voice mail support, send and receive fax, and ZoomGuard advanced lightning protection.

Documentation and software are provided in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Greek, French, Italian, Polish, and Turkish.

The Model 3095F is RoHS lead free compliant.

   * Modem on Hold Receive a voice call without losing your Internet

The box states that a CD is enclosed with multi-lingual manual and Windows fax/voice software. The box and the web site copied above indicate that it works under Linux. The on-board DSP woulod seem to indicate a full h/w modem and not a winmodem. Putting a DSP in a winmodem is kind of the opposite of the reason for a winmodem I thought.

Not too sure how well HylaFAX works with a USB modem. Always used HylaFAX before with serial port or internal modems.

Thanks,
Terry
