Hello Richard,

you can send SMS with HylaFAX, but you need a analog modem.
You can start the Server with the option:

/usr/sbin/hfaxd -s snpp -i hylafax

Then you need this file

/var/spool/hylafax/etc/pagermap

pagermap:

With this Windows Client, you can use the SMS function. All this lines is
for SMS in Germany!
