Here's a very simple guide to using Minicom; http://www.mainpine.com/faqs/linux_ans/ans3_linux.htm If you require further help please search on the web for 'Minicom'.... you will find thousands of examples. What you are trying to find out with Minicom is whether your modem and telephone system are setup and working... this is a prerequisite of HylaFAX and is the first step in understanding your issues.
