[hylafax-users] RSPREC error/got DCN (code 51) since hylafax upgrade

Hello,

I'm in the process of testing a new fax server to send roughly
1,000,000 faxes per year.

Existing fax server is Hylafax 4.2.1 on an HP-UX 11i system.
New fax server is Hylafax 4.3.1 on a Linux system.

Sending to some remote fax machines consistently give the error:
"RSPREC error/got DCN (code 51)"

For the two that I've hit against so far, there are log entries saying
NSF remote fax equipment: Canon Laser Class 9000 Series
and
NSF remote fax equipment: HP

The difference between the existing and new fax servers appears to be
the default DesiredEC value.
On the existing server it appears to be 0 (log says USE 1-D MH)
On the new server it appears to be 2 (log says USE 2-D MMR)

The man page on both systems says the default DesiredEC is 2. I can't
see any configs on the existing system changing this, nor is there a
-1 on the sendfax command line, so I'm unsure how it's setting
DesiredEC:0.

If I set DesiredEC:0 in jobcontrols on the new server, faxes are sent
OK to these destinations.

The wisdom on the archives for this list suggests I should be using
ModemType:Class1. I'm using ModemType:Class2 as faxaddmodem doesn't
allow me to set them to Class1. There are 30 "modems" (Actually some
PABX magic) connected to a terminal server and I'm using a modified
version of ttyd to Linux connect serial devices to ports on the
Terminal server.

Is there anything I should do here other than assume it (default
DesiredEC) is a difference between 4.2.1 and 4.3.1 and change my
configuration to set DesiredEC:0?

Thanks in advance
Jeff
