I have set up hylafax on numerous Solaris and linux systems without any problems. We install or compile from source. Not a problem. This time around I am trying to add a modem using faxaddmodem. When it probes the modem in is unable to complete the task and gives the following error. Probing for best speed to talk to modem: 38400 19200 9600 4800 2400 1200 Unable to deduce DTE-DCE speed; check that you are using the correct device and/or that your modem is setup properly. If all else fails, try the -s option to lock the speed. The problem that I don't understand is that I am able to communicate with the modem using minicom and am able to dial my cell phone for a test. What should I look for to get hylafax working with this modem?
