Hi list,
today I've put something like this in bin/wedged:
echo "MODEM KO" | smbclient -M admin_pc
so an user knows when it's time to power cycle a wedged modem. Problem is, after they power cycle a modem I need to restart the hylafax service to put the modem back in idle state. Let's make an example:
# faxstat ... Modem ttyS0 (011xxxxxxx): Running and idle ...
Now, if I turn off the modem and I try to send a fax, hylafax fails after three attempts to initialize the modem, it calls the bin/wedged script and a popup window appears on admin_pc as expected.
# faxstat ... Modem ttyS0 (011xxxxxxx): Waiting for modem to come ready ...
I turn the modem back on and I wait a bit. Nothing happens, the modem doesn't come back in idle state and I need to restart the service. Should I wait a bit more? Is there a way to tell hylafax to automatically bring back a modem in idle state after it becomes wedged?
