Re: [hylafax-users] Modem dials it's own line during testing

I have a setup with HylaFAX 4.3.0 running on Debian Sarge, and two
MultiTech MT5634ZBA USB modems on separate lines, XXX-9513, and XXX-6432.

Both lines are for voice and FAX, and either modem is available for either
outbound or inbound FAX.

I want to fax from one line to the other for testing, but sometimes a
modem will dial it's own line, e.g:

I want to send a FAX to 9513, and HylaFAX tries to dial out on the modem
connected to 9513! How do I prevent this?

I don't want to restrict either modems to only inbound or outbound, though
I'd like HylaFAX to prefer 6432 for outbound, and 9513 for inbound.

HylaFAX deliberately shares outgoing loads over all available modems. This behavior depends upon how the job was submitted (what modem the user requested) and what the various ModemPriority values are.

What you probably want to do is to use the -h option in your sendfax call:

sendfax -h modem@ -d 5551212
