Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax - Iaxmodem - send fax - Asterisk

I've done load testing with HylaFAX / IAXmodem loading a dual-PRI inbound
and outbound at 100% capacity sending to itself and it worked fine. I think
my load average on the HylaFAX box was something like 1.2 and the Asterisk
box hardly noticed. Asterisk on 2 X Digium Te110's, Netfinity quad Xeon 700,
HylaFAX on an AMD64 ASUS based box underclocked to 1 Ghz for stability. If
your config is good and you have decent boxes, you'll have no problems under
load.

I've only ever had occassion to have 10 concurrent faxes going through
iaxmodems, and there were no problems, and it did not tax the system
noticeably... I'd be surprised if a modern system couldn't easily handle
48 concurrent faxes going through iaxmodems.

Now, as for the txfax/rxfax applications... I can't speak for those.
But iaxmodem has nothing to do with txfax/rxfax - which is where the
saying about spandsp's problems with concurrent connections came from.
