That is a good idea, I will try that.  And no, there is no mounted file system between the two machines.

have you tried making one of the seqf files a link to the other with ln?

 

something like:

ln -s /u/faxes/sendq/seqf /mnt/other_machine/u/faxes/sendq/seqf
