Has anyone had any luck getting the Patton 2977 working in Super G3 (V.34 fax)

I noticed that the current firmware supported Class 2.1, but the best I could do
after massaging the lucent configs around some was to get fairly inconsistent
results. Even hairpinning from the board back to itself seemed to produce
occasional corrupt TIFFs, etc.

I would suggest not spending any time with the Class 2x on the Patton 2977. The Class 2 firmware is quite buggy even without adding V.34-Fax/SuperG3 to the mix.

I never even bothered to test the V.34-Fax capabilities of the new firmware simply because I realized that even *if* it did work there was no way that it could be used reliably in production, anyway.

As far as I am concerned, those things are Class 1-only.

I, along with some others, lobbied Patton for over a year to try to get them to see the value in getting Class 1.0, V.34-Fax in Class 1, supported. We managed to get them to fix a bunch of bugs - some particularly severe (which is why these things even work reliably at all in Class 1) - but in the end anything that was considered a "new feature" was not going to get any traction unless we wanted to foot the incredulously immense development costs ourselves.
