I'm new to Hylafax and am trying to set up a mail-to-fax service for my users, where they send messages with PDF attachments to a fax mailbox and require that the message body and headers be inserted into a corporate cover-page and faxed along with the pages of the PDF attachment(s).
Now, the mail-delivery program can determine the fax number and pass the message to Hylafax for processing, but this is where I'm stuck. I can see that "sendfax" will compose a fax perfectly if it's given the required header information and attachment filenames; and I can see that "faxmail" will compose an ASCII cover-page from an e-mail message but ignore attachments. So it looks like what I would have to do is have the mail-delivery program (which is written in Perl) parse the message, save the attachments to files and pass the headers and attachment filenames to "sendfax". That sounds like quite a bit of work, with potential pitfalls; so I'm wondering does anybody have any better suggestions as to how I might achieve what I'm looking for?
