No, as you say you could control the users' views from within the hfaxd 
client, as well.  But, yes, if you want this functionality from the 
server you will need to update or change the server software.

I don't know to what "DDI and other ISDN features" you refer.  A year or 
two ago I took a look at SuSE's patches in their SRPM, and I don't 
recall seeing any feature-adds.
