Installed the newest 4.2.x version the other day over the 'net. Got the comtrol Rocket drivers compiled (the ones on their site don't compile under Centos 4.3) from a beta version on their FTP site. Sent it a fax, and worked just dandy. Tried connecting over the 'net to the Hylafax server (yes, I opened two ports to it) and got "please login with user and pass". Since I'm using Frog Fax@Mail, and it doesn't do passwords, I put in the global "allow" in the hosts.hfaxd file. Tried connecting over the 'net and could never get connected. Tried connecting at home, and after about 40 seconds it FINALLY let me in. On a hunch, I put my host in the /etc/hosts with a name. Tried connecting again and it was almost instant. Why is it reverse looking up? How do I turn this off? Why was it not letting me connect from over the 'net? I could telnet to that port and login. Weird, huh? ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
