totcalls should be incremented by the CAPI faxsend replacement.  I do
not know what it does.

c2faxsend is buggy in this respect.
IIRC older versions increment the counter(s) twice: once before and once after sending.
The current version (or if it's fixed already, some version in between) increments the counter(s) only on failed attempts, so this will show 0 tries if it succedded in the first try.
