These parameters are all still there, nothing has changed in this respect.

My guess is that your upgrade did not go so well,  Perhaps you installed 
4.2.1 with RPM and 4.2.5.5 with source and have a conflicting set of 
libfaxserver/libfaxutil so files on your system?
