I'm going to setup a system to send and receive faxes. I would appriciate some suggestions and help on this system, before i go out there and buy something that won't work. Hardware: 1 ISND line (+1 MSN number) 1 PC (Athlon 2100+, 512ram, RAID hdd storage) Software: Fedora Core 5 Linux HylaFax 4.2.5 (soon to be installed) This system will send and receive faxes. Its also my desktop system so it doesn't need any remote control capability. I would like to buy a modem/fax that works with my ISDN line, is usable under Linux, supports the Class 2.0 protocol, is reliable and works fine with HylaFax. Is all that too much to ask? :) 1) Can someone suggest a modem/fax device that can do the above? 2) Do ISDN modems support fax? I was told that only PSTN modems can do fax transmissions. 3) Here are the PSTN modem/fax devices that i found localy: ZOOM 56K (USB and PCI), ALLIED DATA Tornado 56K (USB and Serial) are these modems within my specifications? Any help would be appriciated. Thank you. ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
