Hello Michael,

probably your printer cannot print in that area where the tag line is.
stdin of your lp command should be the same as file.ps. You can check  
this with
/usr/bin/fax2ps recvq/fax00145.tif > file.ps
and
lp -h host -d printer file.ps

maybe you can psresize or fax2ps -S -W width -H height to scale your  
image file down to the printable area.
