I think that you mean between calls and tries. A call occurs when the
modem dials a number. A try occurs when a connection with the remote is
made (after the call occurs).
Futhermore, why does hylafax appear to try twice with
"-t 1"
failed because... No carrier detected
Dials: 2 (consecutive failed calls to destination)
Calls: 2 (total phone calls placed)
Because it may have gotten a BUSY or NO CARRIER response on them. If
you want to limit the number of calls placed used "-T 1".
